Team OWU

Winning Support

For many members of the 23 varsity teams at Ohio Wesleyan, playing their sport while attending college is a dream come true. But maintaining excellence in the classroom and in the arena comes with a price tag. Travel, equipment, and facility costs add up—that’s where Team OWU takes the field.

As the annual athletic fundraising program and philanthropic arm of the Ohio Wesleyan “W” Association, Team OWU provides operating budget income for varsity sports, ensuring that OWU stays at the forefront of NCAA Division III athletics.

OWU Athletes Count on You

When you become a Team OWU donor, you’re helping to maintain a tradition of athletics excellence in play for more than 100 years. You join alumni, family, and friends of the university in offering vital support for athletes. You invest in the future of athletics at Ohio Wesleyan.

100% of all commitments made to Team OWU go toward supporting OWU athletic programs, facilities, and equipment. Some areas of need your gift can support are:

  • Travel expenses to compete against the best teams in the nation
  • Upgraded facilities and equipment
  • New uniforms
  • Coaches’ assistance to recruit top talent and keep our Battling Bishops at the forefront of the NCAC and the NCAA

Individual sports coaches determine how Team OWU funds best impact their program. Use of the general fund is determined through a yearly plan developed by the athletic director, in conjunction with the president, vice president of university relations, and Team OWU excellence committee chair.

Joining the Team

As a Team OWU donor, you can designate your gift one of three ways:

  • Give 100 percent of your financial commitment to the general fund for athletics
  • Allocate 50 percent of your gift to the sports program of your choice and 50 percent to the general fund for athletics
  • Allocate 100 percent of your gift to the sports program of your choice

Cheer on OWU athletics and make your gift now. If you are interested in joining the Team OWU Excellence Committee or have other questions about Team OWU, please contact Miranda Zink at (740) 368-3303 or at mlzink@owu.edu.
